Belt Promotion

Out with the white and in with the yellow...

Connor has been taking Karate for 4 months. I enjoy watching him in class he is so focused and loves the challenge. Tonight he had his first belt promotion. He has worked so hard to earn his next belt. Way to go Connor... We are so proud of you.

Mastering Math A Sherlock Holmes Problem Solving Mystery...

Connor had one of the leading parts in his class play. He we Sherlock Holmes. He loved the part and played it so well. I am so proud of all the kids they put in lots of hours to make this work. We really were blessed this year to have an amazing teacher this year.

ZOO TIME!

May 2013

Connor and I enjoy going to the Zoo. We have a pass and go every time he is off track. Wish we could go more like we did when he was little. I love to watch Connor watch the animals, his face lights up. I love this boy!

 

 

Connor loves all the animals, but the otters are his favorite.

Family Day

Over Memorial day weekend we went to the International Peace Gardens. It was a perfect day to hang out as a family.

3rd Grade Field Trip

Today was field trip day... Connor was so excited to ride the bus. Our first stop was the park for lunch and then on to Red Butte Gardens. Our group had the  BEST guide. She let us taste and touch lots of plants.

Science Fair 2013

Our first science fair! We had lots of fun, but it sure was a lot of work. Connor wanted to know if changing the design of  a paper airplane changed the distance it flew. We had to fly some planes and make a board. Connor made it to the second round. We are very proud of him

.

Easter Time

Easter time is our favorite time of year. Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins and on the 3 day he was alive! It doesn't get any better than that!

Connor has been out of school all month and we have had lots of fun, but I think Easter weekend was the best. Good Friday we colored eggs and made hot cross buns (a tradition my great grandma passed down to me - for which I am so blessed). Connor loves to cut the crosses on them and this year I couldn't get him to stop eating them.





Saturday we went to Heber. Our friends the Huntley's invited us to ride the Easter train. The weather was perfect and the drive was beautiful - except for the red light I ran :). We stopped and hung out with my sister Tina.. It was so fun to visit with her. She is amazing so beautiful on the inside and out. Then we meet up with our friends at the train. Connor made a new friend at the petting zoo... his name is Bacon. On the way home we stopped for lunch and walked on the beach at Deer Creek.



Sunday we woke up and Connor told us the Easter story and then it was off the see what the Easter bunny had done. We went to church and heard the cutest kids sing and then a wonderful message. After church was the best part... We had a bbq outside. The weather was so nice. While Wes and I got lunch ready Connor set out games for us to play. He was so excited for us to just hang out.

Egg Drop

Connor's class did an egg drop at school. Connor made a house and then picked an egg to put inside. He named it Eggbert. After he was safe in his house we took him to school. His teacher, Mrs. Childs dropped him off the roof. And well Eggbert lived. It was so fun to watch all the eggs fall... some lived and well some didn't.

BIG 9th Birthday

For Connor's 9th birthday we went to San Diego. We made many stops on our way... We saw the Hoover Dam, The Lost City Museum, had dinner and stayed the night with my in-laws, saw the London Bidge, and then breakfast with my cute grandparents and my cousin Elizabeth. When we got to San Diego we settled into our hotel and took a dip in the pool. The next day we got up early for Legoland- we love LEGOs! We also went to Sea Wold, Mission Bay beach, and the USS Midway Musuem. We all loved Sea World. Connor got to make a dolphin squeek, feed the sea lions, and pet the bat rays. The Shamu show was the best. Wes went on the Manta ride, but Connor and I chickened out. The beach was to cold to play in the ocean, but Connor managed to make a small sand castle and find some sea shells. We now have sand from each coast. I do have to say Florida's beaches are my favorite! Well Florida is my favorite! On the way home we didn't stop other than to pee and eat. It was a long drive. It was fun to see family and be together.
